The Barcelona pilot will take place in the Sant Andreu neighborhood. Its vibrant community boost a proud industrial tradition and a dynamic commercial fabric and is fast becoming a hub of innovative design, crafts and artistic activities. Located in the north area of Barcelona’s bustling city center its dual-flow community dynamics make it an excellent pilot location for MUV. A large portion of the neighborhood’s 150.000 inhabitants commute daily to the inner districts, but also Sant Andreu’s emerging attraction is increasingly compelling other district’s dwellers to set up shops and work there, thus bringing up demand for transportation. The pilot will be coordinated by Fundació i2CAT [I2CAT] and facilitated by the City’s Institut Municipal de Informàtica [IMI], both project partners.
