Fundão
In Fundão the pilot will be run in the Old Town, with around 9.000 inhabitants. Fundão is part of the Cova Beira region, a large and mountainous area where the rural ecosystems play an important role in the economy. This Municipality is using a wide open and social innovation strategy to coordinate a process of social and economic transformation aiming to retain population and create new jobs, strengthen social cohesion, empower urban regeneration and rural economy revitalization. Transportation management issues and mobility between Fundão and other urban centers of the region and abroad is a crucial aspect for the development of the innovation and investment attraction strategy of the Municipality. The pilot will be coordinated by Bag Innovation [BAG] and facilitated by Municipio do Fundao [MFU], both project partners.
